Niobium Spraybooms for Acid Regeneration Plants (ARPs) 

Acid Regeneration Plants (ARPs) — primarily used in steel pickling operations to recover hydrochloric acid (HCl) and manage iron oxide sludge — Niobium plays a critical role due to its exceptional corrosion resistance in strong acid environments.

ARPs regenerate spent pickling liquor (mainly iron-laden HCl) via a thermal hydrolysis process. Niobium spraybooms are used for spraying the spent acid into a hot reaction zone (spray roaster or fluidized bed reactor).

SALIENT FEATURES OF NIOBIUM SPRAYBOOMS:

Niobium resists hydrochloric acid and chlorides far better than stainless steels or even titanium.
Performs well in oxidizing environments at high temps.
Niobium is resistant to SCC, common in HCl environments
Lower maintenance and failure risk compared to traditional alloys
